2 Weeks Old!

Time sure is flying by fast. Sean is back to work in the morning. I'm a little scared to be "on my own". My mother will be stopping by in the morning to help out. Tomorrow Sam has his second Doctor's appointment. Below are some new pictures for you to gawk at.

Sam is already a week old

I can't believe it's been a week already since little Sam entered our lives. It has gone by so fast. We have had lots of visitors and little sleep over the last week. Our phone has never rang so much. I would like to thank everyone for visiting over the past week, and an extra thank you to those have been keeping us fed. Thank you Nana, Grandma, Uncle Dave, and Nana for your meals.

Here are some more pictures from Sam's first week.

All's well that ends well!

Samuel Patrick Gordon was born on 2-4-08 at 7:36AM weighting 7 lbs & 14.6 oz after putting quite a scare in all of us.

Laura went into labor when her water broke at 4:20 AM (thanks to Dave's Labor inducing Chili). We called the Dr and were told it was not a big rush to get to the hospital, so we both took showers and got our stuff together. We arrived at UMass Memorial at about 5:30AM. Labor was progressing as normal other than Sam's heart-rate dropping a little bit during contractions. Laura was instructed to try different positions to relieve pressure on the cord and it was working for the most part. Sometime shortly after 7AM during an exam they realized Sam was breech and had a prolapsed cord. A code white was declared and the staff sprung into action. Everything happened real fast! About 10 peopled suddenly appeared in the room, flipped Laura over and rushed her in surgery.

Every thing went great from there and within minutes I had a beautiful baby boy. Both mother and baby made it through the whole ordeal in perfect shape.

Not exactly according to plan, but the prize was better than I ever imagined.
